Occupied WB, ALRAY - The Israeli occupation force (IOF) carried out on Wednesday at daybreak multiple raids and inspections to a number of towns and houses in the occupied West Bank towns and cities, resulted in the detention of 18 citizens.
Local sources reported that the IOF detained five people from al-Jalazoun camp, north of the city of Ramallah.
The sources named the detainees as Muhammed Abu Helwa, Mustafa al-Rumhi, Amjad Safi, brothers Malek and Muhammed Abu Khalifah, clashes were erupted as a result between the IOF and Palestinian youths.
Also, the IOF detained two brothers named Maher Jaradat, 50, and Musa Jaradat, 43, from the town of Sa'ir, after breaking into their houses, east of the city of Hebron, and destroying their contents, as well as raided on the Fuwwar camp and Idhna town, west of the city.
The sources pointed out that the IOF stormed the Fuwwar camp and Idhna town, and ransacked the houses of Abdel Fattah al-Najjar, a lecturer in the Palestine Polytechnic University, and ex-prisoner Mohamed Mutlaq.
As of Qalqilya, the IOF detained child Waleed Ismael as well as Said Abu Abu Haniyeh, brothers Abdullah and Muhammed Radwan and Asaad Husain, from their homes after breaking into the town of Azzun, east of the city.
Clashes were erupted as a result between Palestinian youths and the IOF who fired tear gas canisters to disperse them. The clashes resulted in a number of suffocations among the Palestinian youths who were cured on the scene.
In Bethlehem, the IOF detained seven people, including two brothers and an ex-prisoner. In addition, the forces summoned a youth to appear before the Israeli intelligence.
Locals in the city pointed out that the IOF detained ex-prisoner Ali Salah, 36, brothers Qusai and Muhammed Ali Salah, Mahmoud Salah,23, after raiding on and ransacking their houses in the town of al-Khader, south of the city.
Moreover, the IOF summoned youth Ahmad Issa, from the al-Khader town, to appear before its intelligence in the Gush Etzion illegal settlement.
In the same context, the IOF detained Muhammed Zawahra, 22, from an area in central Bethlehem, as well as Bashar al-Rashaida, 22, and Laith Odeh, 25, from the village of Rashaida, after raiding on and ransacking their houses, east of the city.
Israeli occupation forces routinely carry out arrest raids in the West Bank. Around 40 percent of Palestinian men living in the occupied territories have been detained by Israel at some point in their lives.
