Occupied Jerusalem, ALRAY - PLO Executive Committee member and Minister of Jerusalem Affairs, Adnan Al-Husseini warned against the Israeli risks of demolishing Palestinian homes and facilities in occupied Jerusalem and desecrating the al-Aqsa Mosque Compound.
Al-Husseini excoriated, in a statement on Tuesday, Israel’s acts of demolishing a Palestinian-owned residential multi-story structure in east Jerusalem, as well as ravaging a 700-square meter land owning to Palestinian citizen Dawood Adwan.
Al-Husseini has also called the acts of demolition as a ‘criminal policy’ which the Israeli occupation government pursues in an open disregard of all international conventions and treaties and in a clear defying of the international community.
He considered that this aggressive policy is a well-thought-out and systematic policy, which aims at getting rid of the Palestinian Arab presence in occupied Jerusalem.
Al-Husseini has rebuked the extremist settlers for breaking into a 2-storey Palestinian house which belongs to al-Muhdar family in Wadi al-Joz, and for trespassing on and destroying a Palestinian land.
He went on to say that these measures and practices are a clear crime and aggression that fall within Israel’s policy pursued against the occupied city of Jerusalem and its Palestinian people with the aim of uprooting the Palestinians to make room for the Israeli settlers.
In addition, the minister denounced Israeli settlers’ storming into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound, assaulting worshipers, and closing Bab al-Rahma prayer area, noting that conditions in the occupied city will lead to serious explosion and drag the area into more violence.
He called upon the international community to pressure the Israeli occupation government to stop all racist forms and policies practiced against the occupied Palestinian city of Jerusalem and its holy places
