Occupied WB, ALRAY - The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) detained on Wednesday at daybreak 19 Palestinian citizens, including Hamas leading members, during raids and inspection operations across multiple districts of the occupied West Bank towns and cities.
The IOF said in a statement that the forces detained 19 Palestinians at the pretext of taking part in acts of popular resistance against Israeli forces and settlers.
The IOF also claimed that the forces seized over arms and hand grenades during their raids on a number of Palestinian districts.
In Ramallah, local sources reported that the IOF detained local leading members and ex-prisoners affiliated with the Hamas Islamic movement. Some of them were identified as Sayid Abu al-Baha', Fayez Wardah, Sami Hussein, and Maher Dalaysha.
As of Bethlehem, the IOF detained three youths named as Sayed al-Jabri, Sharaf Eddin Abu Salem, and Mousa El Amour.
In northern occupied West Bank, the IOF detained young man Zaid Ahmed Bajawi, after raiding on and ransacking the house of his family in the town of Ya'bad.
Israeli occupation forces routinely carry out arrest raids in the West Bank. Around 40 percent of Palestinian men living in the occupied territories have been detained by Israel at some point in their lives.
In a separated context, five-year-old Palestinian child was injured last night with serious bruises in his head after being severely beaten by Israeli extremist settler in Maraga neighborhood in the occupied Jerusalem town of Silwan.
