Ten Palestinian detainees on hunger strike against administrative detention

West Bank, ALRAY - The number of Palestinian detainees on hunger strike ups to ten , as the Palestinian detainee Muneer Al-Abd,22, announced Saturday an open hunger strike. 

The commission of detainees and ex-detainees reported that Israeli Prison Service moved Al-Abd to isolation confinement in Ofra prison after he announced the hunger strike; IPS imposed a serious of punishment measures against him, it deprived him of family visit and Kantian for a month.

IOF detained Muneer Al-Abd on February18, 2019 and put him under administrative detention. IPS recently renewed his administrative detention, he was previously detained in 2017. He is the brother of Omar Al-Abd who carried out the attack in Helmish , and is sentenced to four life sentences and is currently in Nafha prison.

The commission reported that the detainees on hunger strike are Huthayfa Halibia,28, Ismail Ali,30, both are from Abu Dies town of occupied Jerusalem, Mohammed Abu Akkar ,24, Mustafa al-Hassanat,21, Hassan al-Zaghari, all of them from Dheisheh camp in Bethlehem , and the prisoner Ahmed ,38, from the town of Burqin in the Jenin district, in addition to the prisoners Munir al-Abd, Hamza Awwad and Hassan Awwad, and the three of them are currently in the isolation of "Ofer".
