West Bank, ALRAY - Former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Yair Golan called on Wednesday to hold direct talks with Islamic resistance movement of Hamas in order to reach a security agreement.

Hamas movement refused to hold any direct talks with Israeli occupation, it resorts to the Egyptian mediators.

" If Israel wants to reach an agreement with Hamas movement, it has to sit with it on the same table," Israel Hayom paper quoted Golan as said.

He added that it's better to talk with Hamas than fighting them.

Golan expressed his rejection to the part of the Deal of Century that talked about annexing settlements in the West Bank.

However, he said that there are positive points in the US plan, such as supporting to establish Palestinian state, compensating Palestinians with lands in northern Negev and signing an Arab regional agreement.

On January 28th 2019, US president Donald Trump announced his peace vision to the Mideast, known as Deal of the Century, in the presence of the outgoing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.  


The US plan, rejected by Arab, Palestinian Authority, and Palestinian factions, mapping a disconnected Palestinian state that connected by bridges and tunnels, and stating occupied Jerusalem as a capital of Israel.
