Occupied WB, ALRAY - The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Monday at dawn carried out a wide-scale campaign of raids across multiple districts of the occupied West Bank towns and cities.
Local sources reported that the IOF detained the ex-prisoner Hudhayfah Halabya from the town of Abu Dis, southeast of the occupied Jerusalem.
The sources pointed out that Israeli forces besieged the house of the ex-prisoner Halabya in the town and then broke into it, causing wreak havoc in it.
Halabya was released in December, after going on a hunger strike that lasted for 67 days and ended when Israeli authorities specified the period of his administrative detention.
In addition, the IOF detained 59-year-old Shaker Amara after raiding on his house in Aqabat Jaber refugee camp in Jericho.
In the camp, confrontations erupted between Palestinian youths and the IOF forces, who broke into the camp, during which the IOF fired rubber bullets, sound grenades and toxic gas towards the youths. There were no reports of injuries.
In the town of Beit Ummar, northwest of Hebron, several Palestinians suffered suffocation injuries when the IOF fired toxic gas canisters towards them.
In the same context, the IOF detained four youths from several areas in Hebron.
Locals in the city reported that the IOF detained 32-yar-old ex-prisoner Muhammad Abu Maria. He spent five years in Israeli jails.
They added that the IOF also detained Moataz Al-Owawi, 34, Fayez Abu Aliyan, 18, and Waleed Muzain, 44, after storming and ransacking their houses.
Israeli occupation forces routinely carry out arrest raids in the West Bank. Around 40 percent of Palestinian men living in the occupied territories have been detained by Israel at some point in their lives.
