Gaza, Alray - Israeli Occupation Forces continued practicing different repressive measures against journalists even at the World Day of Press Freedom. Journalists are exposed to different practices including detention, shooting fire bullets, tear gas and sentence extension.
Israeli forces intentionally targeted journalists to prevent them covering events in the sake of hiding their crimes from the outside world.
The monthly report issued by the Monitoring Department of Ministry of Information indicated Israeli violations against journalists in the West Bank in April.
According to the report, Israeli forces injured10 journalists after being exposed to severe beating and tear gas bombs while doing their work. This caused the photographers Saed Al-Qaq and Mohammed Al-Izza, and the journalists Bilal and Nareman Tamimi to be injured.
IOF also extended detention of the ex-detainee Osama Shaheen for six months and arrested the journalists Mohammed al-Atrash and Abdul Ghani Natsheh .
Security Services of the Palestinian Authority arrested three journalists in the West Bank and threatened to arrest Iman Silawi and close her facebook page.
