Pre-1948 Occupied Palestine, ALRAY – "Adalah" legal centre filed a petition submitted to the District Committee in the south area against "Arad Railroad" plan, which threatens 4700 acres and ignores 50.000 Palestinians in Negev.
In a statement issued Tuesday by the centre, it warned of the dangerous plan, as it will lead to confiscate large-scale lands, demolish dozens of homes, and expel Palestinians. The plan also affects negatively the planning of the Palestinian towns, including Al-Far'a, Kseifa, Qatamat, Mazra'a, etc.
It reported that the details and impacts of the plan would be released.
Palestinians in Negev are subjected to a severe campaign launched by the Israeli institution, which demolished hundreds of homes and Al-Araqeeb town for more than 100 times. The expel threats the destiny of Um Al-Hiran town, as the Israeli Institution is building "Hiran" settlement and forcing Palestinians to an alternative plan of localization in "Hora" area; however, Palestinians refused that plan and insisted on staying at their lands.
