Gaza, ALRAY - Head of Hamas political bureau, Ismail Hanyieh phoned on Monday evening the Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas on the latest updates of the Palestinian reconciliations talks took place in Egypt.
According to the official news agency WAFA, this phone call came within the positive atmosphere after Hamas announcement of resolving the administrative committee to allow the consonance government practice its duties in the Gaza Strip.
“President Abbas expressed his relief of reconciliation atmosphere that took place in Egypt,” WAFA added.
In a statement published on Hamas’s website, Haniyeh also said the move had led to a positive atmosphere between the two sides, hoping that the talks will continue until agreeing to conduct parliament and presidential elections.
Haniyeh affirmed that Hamas is insisting to move forward in all steps to end the internal division. He also wished Abbas luck in representing the Palestinian people in his speech Wednesday at the United Nations General Assembly later this week.
