Hebron, ALRAY- A military force of the Israeli occupation army, accompanied by Israeli crews, stole on Wednesday at dawn antique stones from Al-Mawarq Palace, located in the village of Al-Mawarq, southwest of Dura in the south of the occupied West Bank.
According to local sources from the village that the troops stormed the archaeological palace and closed the streets surrounding the center of the village, and took over the roofs of a number of old buildings surrounding, before going down and carrying out excavations in the place.
Sources explained that the troops were accompanied by trucks and crews of "Civil Administration" and "Israeli archaeological Authority" and began to excavate the place.
The sources pointed out that the crew was seen moving some stones and collectibles through vehicles to trucks and left the place after about five hours.
It is noteworthy that the occupation repeated the confiscation of stones from the palace, which were supervised by the Palestinian Ministry of Tourism, and the Israeli settlers stormed it several times during the past years, and perform Talmudic rituals inside it.The palace was built in the Roman era 2,000 years ago.
