Gaza, Alray - The Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide visits Gaza port briefly on Tuesday where he met Gazans fishermen and examined closely their suffering due to Israeli blockade .
The head of fishermen syndicate in Gaza Nizar Ayash explained to the Norwegian delegation the consequences of the recent Israeli offensive against Gaza on 2011.
Ayash explicated how Israel keep violating the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Palestinian factions on November 2012 and brokered by Egypt. According to the agreement Gaza fishermen are allowed to fish within six nautical miles.
However fishermen are not allowed to exceed three nautical miles . In case they did so , they will be targeted by Israeli gunboats.
Eide said that the Norwegian people still supporting the Palestinian issue and promised to discuss the issue of fishermen in New York meeting next month.
Norway heads the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee, which is the international group of donors scheduled to meet next month in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting.
