Jerusalem, ALRAY - The European Union has called on the Israeli occupation to halt all demolitions and evictions, which will only "increase the suffering of the Palestinian population and further escalate an already tense environment."

In a press statement Sunday, the EU said that it was "appalled" by the demolition of a European-funded school in Jubbet ad-Dib village in the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem, which serves 60 Palestinian children.

"Demolitions are illegal under international law, and children’s right to education must be respected," the EU added.

The Israeli occupation army knocked down on Sunday morning a Palestinian school in Jubbet ad-Dib village, east of Bethlehem.

Since 2016, the Israeli occupation has destroyed 11 Palestinian schools, denying hundreds of children their right to education.
