Gaza, ALRAY - Israeli occupation has been continuing its brutal aggression against the Palestinian people in the besieged Gaza Strip for the fifth consecutive day, committing atrocious crimes against the civilians, Government Media Office said.

The Government Media Office pointed out that at least 33 people have been killed since the start of the Israeli aggression, including 6 children and 3 women, and about 147 others injured.

It added that over 940 housing units have inflected damage due to the continued Israeli aggression. Of them, at least 51 housing units have been completely destroyed, 47 others have been severely damaged and became uninhabitable, and the rest sustained partial damage.

The GMO added that the Israeli occupation is still imposing a closure on Gaza’s main crossings, which triggers dangerous implications on all walks of life in Gaza Strip.

Gaza’s only power plant is about to stop working in the next few hours, which will result in severe damage to many vital sectors in Gaza, it warned.

Furthermore, the GMO added, the medical system in Gaza suffers severe shortage in medical supplies due to the closure of the crossings.

It also pointed out that tens of patients in Gaza Strip are at risk of life-threatening, for being unable to reach hospitals outside Gaza Strip so as to receive treatment which is not available in Gaza due to the shortage of medications and the needed medical supplies.

With regards to Gaza’s fishermen, the GMO continued, at least 3500 fishermen stopped working in Gaza Strip due to the ongoing Israeli aggression for the fifth consecutive day.

It indicated that the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza Strip poses a threat to the cessation of water pumping operations or limited functioning of approximately 200 water wells, causing hundreds of thousands to suffer water shortage.

The GMO went on to say that all the Israeli measures against besieged Gaza Strip are considered a collective punishment to more than 2 million people living in the Gaza Strip.

It called upon on all parties that signed the Geneva conventions to provide international protection for Palestinian civilians and pressure the Israeli occupation into abiding by its obligations towards civilians.
