Israeli occupation frees Palestinian detainee after 12 years in jail

West Bank, ALRAY - The Israeli occupation has released Palestinian detainee Khalid Abu Haniyeh after imprisoning him for 12 years.

Abu Haniyeh, from Azzun town in eastern Qalqilya in the northern occupied West Bank, was held in "Rimon" prison in the southern occupied Naqab region.

According to the Palestinian Prisoners Club, the Israeli occupation army detained Abu Haniyeh in 2011 when he was only 16 years old.

The Israeli occupation is holding around 4,900 Palestinian detainees, including 34 women and nearly 160 children, according to Palestinian prisoners' rights organisations.
