West Bank, ALRAY - The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have freed a Palestinian detainee after imprisoning him for 22 years.

Local sources said that the Israeli occupation authorities released Mohammad al-Maqadmeh, 44, after holding him for 22 years.

Al-Maqadmeh hails from Bureij refugee camp in the central besieged Gaza Strip, where large crowds of relatives, friends, and local citizens greeted him on Monday.

The Israeli occupation is holding around 5,100 Palestinian detainees in inhumane conditions, including more than 1,200 under the so-called administrative detention without charge, according to a Palestinian prisoners’ rights group.
