Gaza, ALRAY - Egyptian authorities closed the Rafah border crossing on Friday until further notice without giving reasons.
Director of Crossings Department Maher Abu Sabhasaid in a brief statement Friday evening that "the Egyptian side informed us they close the Rafah crossing until further notice."
The Egyptian authorities opened the crossing on the past two days for four hours to humanitarian cases.
The land crossing has been operating in a limited way since early July after the Egyptian military removed Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi from office.
The suffering of the thousands stranded is growing day after day as Gaza is completely shut off from the world.
