Jerusalem, ALRAY - Ateret Cohanim Israeli settlement organization handed three Palestinian citizens of Sarahn Jerusalemite family juridical notification for evacuating their lands in Silwan town under the pretext that the land ownership referred to Israeli settlers.    

Wadi Hilweh Information Center explained that the Palestinians have to prove to the court their ownership of the land within 30 days, refuting the allegations of the settlers who claimed that they owned the land before 1984. 

Zuhair al-Rajbee, the official of Batan al-Hawa village committee explained that Ali Sarhan and his son own the houses. It explained that each house is built on 80 meters where 10 people live.  

Al-Rahbee explained that Sarhan family has been living there for more than 80 years.

Few days before handing Sarhan family evection notification, Ateret Cohanim handed Abu Nab family similar evection notice.   

Wadi Hilweh Center explained that Ateret Cohanim planned to confiscate five acers and 200 meters of the middle neighborhood of Baaatttan al-Hawa village in which the lands of Sarhan family are located. Israeli organization claimed that the ownership of these lands referred to Yemeni Jews since 1881.

The center explained that there are more than 35 housing units on the targeted lands, where 80 Palestinian families live. It stressed that the residents have the official papers proving their ownership.

The center explained that Ateret organization has tried for eight years to confiscate the lands of Batan al-Hawa village through circuitous methods.
