Gaza, ALRAY – An Israeli newspaper close to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli right wing incited against the Archbishop of Sebastia of the Greek Orthodox Patriarch Atallah Hanna.

Israeli Hayom paper alleged in a news piece that the Patriarch Hanna met the Syrian president Bashar Assad in Damascus, considering this meeting an announcement of support to Assad regime, which provokes sharp criticism in Israel. 

It added that Patriarch Hanna participated previously in a march supporting the regime in Syria and visited the president palace. 

The paper noted that Patriarch Hanna is known of his support to the Palestinian attack against Israel, and he was interrogated for offering support to the Palestinians who carried out attacks against Israelis. 

The report concluded that the Patriarch Hanna practices wide scale activities against Israel, as he collected donations to rebuild the houses of Palestinian in Jerusalem after being destroyed by "Israel" in the wake of deadly operations. He also expressed his absolute and supportive attitude towards the Palestinians, including the recent events at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
