Ramallah, ALRAY-Head of the Prisoners' Affairs Committee, Issa Qaraqe, bore the Israeli authorities “total responsibility” for the lives and health of hundreds of sick, wounded and disabled prisoners who have been suffering serious and difficult conditions in the Israeli prisons in light of the Israeli continuous disregard for their treatment.

Qaraqe warned of death cases among sick prisoners at any moment, especially the ones who are suffering serious health conditions, noting, “We receive many complaints from patients about Israeli procrastination in providing them with necessary treatment inside the jails.

This came during his visit, with the participation of a delegation from the committee, ex-prisoners and the Prisoner's Club to a number of ex-prisoners, in Jericho and Bethlehem governorates, named: Tamer Abu Dahuk, who spent 8 years in prison, Ali Jalaita from, who spent 16 years and Samer al-Afandi from Deheisheh camp, who spent 15 years in the Israeli prisons.

"Cases of stroke among prisoners have increased, and malignant diseases have been discovered in the prisoners' bodies due to the lack of health and medical care, and the abcsence of the Israeli legal and moral responsibilities towards them to provide the necessary treatments for patients," he said.

He mentioned that 18 prisoners in the "Ramleh Hospital", suffer very serious conditions, indicating that their lives are threatened with death at any moment.

He called for international and legal attention to the Palestinian prisoners' issue, demanding international organizations and the World Health Organization (WHO) to oblige "Israel" to respect international treaties and conventions in the care of sick prisoners, and provide all necessary remedies for them.
