Occupied Jerusalem, ALRAY - The so-called “Planning and Building Committee” of the Israeli occupation municipality intends to approve next Wednesday a plan to build 176 housing units for Jewish settlers in the heart of Jabal Mukaber neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem.
Israel’s Channel 2 reported that the plan is to expand the Jewish settlement outpost of Neveh Tzion, established in 1994 in the heart of Jabal Mukaber neighborhood.
Sources in the Israeli occupation municipality considered that the American political pressure was dashed, adding that talks now are about permits to build in an area the Israelis had never dared to approve building a Jewish settlement in.
Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestine are the Jewish civilian communities built on lands occupied by Israel during the 1967 Six-Day War. Such settlements currently exist in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and in the Golan Heights.
