Gaza, Alray - Israel confirmed the security and military coordination with the Egyptian army is continuous, particularly with regard to the Sinai Peninsula and tunnels between Egypt and the Gaza Strip.

Hebrew radio quoted a senior Israeli military sources as saying that "the coordination with the Egyptian army continues," adding that the Egyptian army will likely work firmly in the Sinai Peninsula "to restore calm to the area especially in light of the challenge of jihadi elements,"

The sources pointed to the coordination between Egyptian and Israeli army in respect of the tunnels scattered along the Egyptian border with the Gaza Strip. He said "closing the tunnels leading to the Gaza Strip is a blow to Hamas," especially in light of tightening the siege on the Gaza Strip continued for more than six years.

In the same context, media close to the Palestinian Authority quoted Egyptian military sources as saying that "there is coordination between the Egyptian and Israeli sides to allow military vehicles, soldiers and aircraft to the Sinai to fight "terrorism."
