Occupied Jerusalem, ALRAY - The Israeli occupation police detained on Monday morning an employee of the occupied Jerusalem’s Islamic Waqf (endowment) department, as he exited the al-Aqsa mosque.
In turn, the Israeli occupation police allowed scores of Israeli illegal settlers to storm the courtyards of the al-Aqsa Mosque Compound under heavily military protection via the Mughrabi gate.
The director of the Information Department of the Jerusalem’s Islamic Endowments Department, Firas Al-Debs said that the occupation police detained firefighting staffer at the al-Aqsa mosque Imad Abdeen as he was leaving the mosque through the gate of the Chain, and took him to one of Jerusalem’s detention center for interrogation.
He pointed out that 38 settlers broke into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in the morning hours, roamed its courtyards, and received explanation on the alleged “Temple Mount”.
It’s noteworthy that the Israeli occupation police opened the Mughrabi Gate at six a.m., intensified their military presence in the vicinity of the mosque and at its gates, and provided full protection for the settlers while being at the mosque.
Also, the Israeli police stationed at the entrances to the mosque keep imposing strict procedures on the Palestinians seeking to enter the mosque, including detaining some of their IDs at the gates.
The al-Aqsa mosque Compound exposes on a daily basis to the storming of the Israeli settlers, at which they perform Talmudic rituals and discrete its sanctity, as part of devoting the temporal and special division of the mosque, and Judaizing the occupied Palestinian city of Jerusalem.
