Gaza, ALRAY - US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's announcement that US no longer considers settlements in the occupied West Bank "inconsistent with international law" has been widely rejected by Palestinian officials and factions.
Palestinian ministry of foreign affairs and expatriates condemned the announcement of US secretary of state regarding Israeli settlement in occupied West Bank.
The ministry considers US reversal on Israeli settlements a new area of US aggression against Palestinian people and its rights, and insuperable part of US coup against international legitimacy and resolutions and international law, and another step to end the peace process and the two-state solution.
The ministry stressed in a statement that this is biased towards the occupation and green light to Israel to go on in its settlement policies.

The spokesperson of Islamic movement of Hamas, Hazem Qasem said that US secretary of state announcements is a blunt violation of the international law and Human law.
He said that Israeli settlements are a war crime; Israeli occupation expelled the real inhabitants of Palestine and reside another people instead of them.
He stressed that Israeli settlements as well as Israeli occupation are illegal, and the Palestinian people has the right to defend its existence on its land.
Fatah movement said that US administration reversal on Israeli settlements is a dead letter and contradicts the international law.
The spokesperson of the Revolutionary Council of Fatah, Osama al-Qawasmi said that Trump seeks to abolish international law, the United Nations and the Security Council, and to create new bases of reference.
Islamic Jihad movement said that the announcement is a colonial and hostile statement, lacking any legitimacy, and new evidence of the dirty American face in its support for the occupation and terrorism. "
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) considered the announcement of the US Secretary of State as additional evidence of the American administration's hostility against Palestinian people and their national rights, and explicit legislation to plunder the Palestinian land and encourage the continuation of its occupation, and a flagrant violation of international law and relevant international institutions, including the Security Council and the UN General Assembly. It condemned the settlements and called for his cessation and removal.
