Gaza, ALRAY - The wife of a Palestinian jailed in Israeli prisons gave birth on Monday to their first born from a sperm smuggled out of the prison.
Sana, the wife of long-serving prisoner Walid Daqqa, gave birth to a baby girl named Milad who was born by artificial insemination using a sperm smuggled by her husband from his prison cell.
Daqqa, from the city of Baqa al-Gharbiyye, is one of the longest serving Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails. He was detained in 1986 and sentenced to 39 years in prison.
Palestinian prisoners serving long terms in Israeli prisons resort to smuggling sperms so that their wives can bear children before it becomes too late for them to do that.
