Ramallah, ALRAY - The occupied Palestinian territories have confirmed no new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, Ghassan Nemer, said on Monday.
The spokesman added, in a press statement, that the number of cases confirmed positive for the coronavirus in the West Bank and Gaza Strip has reached 59, 17 of them have been recovered.
He added that the other 42 are still placed in quarantine, pointing out that the Ministry of Health has conducted over 4000 coronavirus tests in the occupied Palestinian territories.
In the same context, the Ministry of Health in Gaza has said that measures of preparation and readiness are still continuing at every level to confront the rapidly spreading viral disease COVID-19.
On Sunday, six cases of the novel coronavirus were confirmed in the occupied Palestinian territories, four in Ramallah and two in the Gaza Strip.
In Israel, over 135 people have been tested positive for the novel coronavirus since Sunday evening, bringing the total number to 1238.
The global death toll of the coronavirus pandemic has jumped to 12784, while the global number of cases has reached almost 292142, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
