Occupied Jerusalem, ALRAY - Dozens of Israeli settlers broke into the courtyards of the al-Aqsa Mosque Compound on Sunday, hours after being reopened to Muslim worshipers after 69 days of coronavirus closure.
“At least 105 settlers, heavily guarded by Israeli forces, have stormed the courtyards of the al-Aqsa Mosque via the Moroccan Gate in two groups since about 7.30 a.m.,” the Director of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Omar Al-Kiswani, said.
Al-Kiswani added that the Israeli forces detained Raeda Saeeda, journalist Sondos Oweis, and youth Obada Najeeb during their presence at al-Aqsa.
He denounced these breakings into which come under the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, calling upon the Arab and Islamic world to take responsibilities and move to save the al-Aqsa Mosque.
It noteworthy to mention that extremist Israeli groups called for storming the mosque on Saturday in large groups.
It’s noteworthy that the al-Aqsa mosque Compound exposes on a daily basis to the storming of the Israeli settlers, at which they perform Talmudic rituals and discrete its sanctity.
