Occupied Jerusalem, ALRAY - Islamic religious references in occupied Jerusalem announced its refusal to the decision of Israeli occupation authorities to close Bab Al-Rrahma praying zone in Al-Aqsa mosque.

Islamic Supermen committee, the administration of Jerusalem's Awqaf and Al-Aqsa mosque affairs, House of Fatwa, and Jerusalem supreme judge department denounced the decision of Israeli occupying court decides to close the Bab al-Rahma praying zone.

The references said in a statement that Bab al-Rahma praying zone is integral part of Al-Aqsa mosque which an Islamic holy place that it will not cede even one particle of its soil.

The administration of Jerusalem's Awqaf and Al-Aqsa mosque affairs does not resort to Israeli occupation courts, because these courts are not competent, and this has been decided by the Islamic supreme committee since June of 1967.

The statement read that Muslims do not recognize Israeli occupation decisions and thus they do not abide by them.

It added that occupying decisions are incompatible with freedom of worship as well as international laws and norms.

" We hold the right-wing Israeli government full responsible for any harm to the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque," the statement read.

Bab Al-Rahma is located on the eastern side of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem reopened it to worshipers, at the end of February 2019, after a forced Israeli closure of 10 years.

After re-opening the prayer zone before the Muslims prayers, after a closure that lasted for 16 years, Israeli occupation forces increased its attacks against Palestinians.

Also, Jewish settlers intensified their presence in the area surrounding the Bab Al-Rahma praying zone during their incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque, guarded by the occupation police, which raised Palestinian concerns about Israeli plans targeting the place.
