Occupied Jerusalem, ALRAY - Palestinian citizen Iyad Abu Sabeeh on Wednesday embarked on emptying the contents of his house located in the occupied Jerusalem’s town of Silwan, after Israel’s Supreme Court ruled in favor of demolishing it.
“Two weeks ago, I was shocked to see that crews of the occupation municipality along with bulldozers broke into the surroundings of the house and began emptying its contents,” Abu Sabeeh said.
“I went to courts so as to get the legal deadline for the notification of demolition, and I hardly managed to extract a disision to postpone the demolition order for a period of 21 days,” he added.
He went on to say that during the 21-day period, he petitioned the order of demolition, but it was totally rejected by the supreme court.
Abu Sabeeh is married with six children. He lives in the house along with his parents, wife and children.
The area of occupied Jerusalem has been subjected to massive demolitions by the Israeli occupation for the purpose of expelling Palestinians out of their lands and Judaizing the city.
