Occupied Jerusalem, ALRAY - Palestinian Liberation Organization's National Office for the Defense of Land and Resistance of Settlement, warned of an Israeli settlement plane to construct thousand settlement units on the lands of the villages of Al-Tur, Anata, Al-Eizariya, and Abu Dis, in the area called East 1 (E1), as part of the "Greater Jerusalem" settlement project.

The office explained in a report that the project, if implemented, will completely close the east area of Jerusalem, and will surrounded the areas of Anata, Al-Tur, and Hizma, hindering any potential future expansion towards the east.

It also explained that the project seeks to connect the settlements in the east area and the settlements outside the working area of occupation municipality in occupied Jerusalem, with the settlements within the municipal boundaries of "Moshe Leon", turning the Palestinian villages in this area into besieged ghettos.

The report warned of annexing large areas of lands in the West Bank to the boundaries of the Greater Jerusalem Municipality; to implement the project.

Secret communication carried out between Israeli government coalition and the White House on the construction in the aforementioned area in the context of planning to annex settlement blocs in the vicinity of Jerusalem to the city in order to expand its borders, leading to what the occupation authorities call "Greater Jerusalem."

The project will include the settlement blocks of Ma'aleh Adumim," "Gush Etzion," and "Givat Ze'ev," and perhaps an additional fourth settlement block of "Adam - Kochav Yaqoub", which would tear the West Bank apart and isolate its north and center from its south, and prevent the establishment of a connected and viable Palestinian state.

E1 settlement project will destroy the Bedouins communities in the east area of occupied Jerusalem and Jordan valley, since Israeli occupation authorities save no efforts to evict these communities and deprive them from their lands.

Israeli municipality announced the launch of a new Judaization plan in the east of the city, including a huge project to establish Silicon Valley, or “Silicon Valley,” a plan under which the financial and business sector, commercial stores and hotel rooms will be expanded to a large size in East Jerusalem at the expense of the industrial zone.

During the first half of this year, the occupation authorities carried out 74 demolition operations in the neighborhoods of Jerusalem, including 30 self-demolitions, that concentrated in the neighborhoods of Silwan, Issawiya, Jabal Al-Mukaber, Beit Hanina, Sur Baher, Shuafat, Wadi Al-Joz, Ras Al-Amoud and Al-Tur. IOF also distributed 53 demolition and construction halt notices.

The project plans to connect occupied Jerusalem with a number of Israeli settlements in east West Bank, by expropriating Palestinian lands in the area and establishing new settlements.

The plan prohibits any possible Palestinian expansion in the villages located in this area by encircling them with settlements and creating a demographic change within the policy of Judaizing Jerusalem in what the occupation government calls "Greater Jerusalem", whose area constitutes 10% of the West Bank.

The plan violates the provisions of international law that prohibit the transfer of the inhabitants of the occupied country to the occupied area, as well as prohibit making permanent changes within the occupied area.
