Occupied Jerusalem, ALRAY - Head of Islamic movement in occupied Palestinian territories, Shiekh Raed Salah warned of Israeli occupation plans to demolish Al-Aqsa mosque.

Salah said in speech to ASTP that Israeli occupation seeks to demolish Al-Aqsa mosque; the continued occupation of Palestine constitutes a threat to Al-Aqsa mosque.

He said that the only way to defend Al-Aqsa mosque is to end the Israeli occupation who seeks to build the alleged Temple instead of Al-Aqsa mosque.

He stressed that Israeli excavation under Al-Aqsa Mosque to find the Temple in 1996 is documented, noting that he had then held a press conference that caused an uproar and later played a major role in organizing events and conferences in support of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Israeli occupation put Salah under home arrest after being released from prison on last July, and bans him from communicating with people except his first-degree relatives.

Israeli occupation court has recently decided that Sheikh Salah will start serving his 28-month prison sentence, on August 16.

Israeli occupation authorities announced the Islamic movement headed by Shiekh Read Salah a prohibited movement on November 27, 2015.
