Gaza, ALRAY - An Israeli rocket on Thursday at dawn struck a United Nations-run primary school based in the overpopulated Al-Shati Camp for refugee west of the blockaded Gaza Strip.

Local sources reported that an Israeli drone fired a rocket into al-Shati Primary School run by the UNRWA agency, which caused damages in the place.

The sources added that the attack against the school interrupted the education process for hundreds of students, indicating that an explosive engineering squad is working in the place to remove the rocket remnants.

For the second day in a row, Israeli occupation warplanes have carried out a series of attacks against several areas in the blockaded Gaza Strip.

These attacks allegedly came in response to burning balloons fired towards Israeli settlements by Palestinian youths who are demanding an end of the unjust Israeli siege imposed against the strip for over 14 years.
