Gaza, ALRAY - Israeli occupation forces arrested on Monday a Palestinian patient at Erez crossing northern Gaza Strip, while moving to receive medical treatment in occupied Jerusalem.
Civil liaison office reported that Israeli occupation forces stationed at Erez crossing has arrested a 35-year old Palestinian youth from Khan Youns, while heading to receive medical treatment in occupied Jerusalem.
It explained that the youth is a patient of cancer and his mother was escorted him, but Israeli occupation forces returned her after arresting her son.
Abdel Nasser Farwana, a specialist in detainees affairs said that Israeli occupation authorities made Erez crossing a trap to arrest and extort Palestinian, taking advantage of the need of Palestinians in Gaza to travel into Israel to receive medical treatment.
The number of Palestinians who were arrested at Erez crossing since the beginning of 2020 ups to 10, in addition to a Palestinian who was arrested while returning back at al-Karama crossing.
Not only many patients and their escorted, merchants were arrested at Erez crossing, but also many travelers were harassed, interrogated, and detained as they passed the checkpoint.
Only less than 4% of Palestinians in Gaza were allowed to travel by Erez crossing, and after the Israeli intelligence approved them; Most of them are patients, students, foreigners, workers in foreign institutions, and businessmen merchants.
