Gaza, ALRAY - The death toll from the COVID-19 pandemic in the blockaded Gaza Strip rose to 56, after another two people died from complications related to the disease, Gaza’s Health Ministry said on Thursday.
The ministry indicated that at least 368 new coronavirus cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, after conducting 2,289 corona tests, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 12,439.
It pointed out that of that number, at least 341 cases are hospitalized, including 41 ones who are described to be in critical condition.
The ministry also indicated that the number of cases who have recovered from the virus and sent home has reached 8,856, after 345 patients were recorded fully recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours.
The total number of the cases tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic stands now at 78,571. The virus-related deaths have reached 667.
There are about 56,657,719 confirmed cases worldwide and the death toll now tops 1,356,694 while over 39,460,917 people have made a full recovery.
