Occupied WB, ALRAY - Israeli occupation forces (IOF) detained on Sunday at least one young Palestinian man during a pre-dawn raid in the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem.
Local sources reported that Israeli occupation soldiers detained Jabra Matthews after storming and ransacking his father’s home in Al-Karkafa area in central Bethlehem.
Israeli occupation troops, in addition, broke into the towns of Beit Jala, Al-Dawha, and Al-Khader, but no raids on Palestinian houses or arrests were reported.
Israeli occupation forces routinely carry out arrest raids in the West Bank. Around 40 percent of Palestinian men living in the occupied territories have been detained by Israel at some point in their lives.
According to Palestinian figures, over 4,500 Palestinians, including 40 women and 170 children, are currently languishing in Israeli detention jails.
At least 700 of the prisoners suffer from chronic illnesses and require regular medical care, 10 of them are suffering from different types of cancer.
