Occupied Jerusalem, ALRAY - The United Nations has called on the Israeli occupation to immediately stop all demolitions of Palestinian homes and properties.
In a press statement, Lynn Hastings, the Humanitarian Coordinator for the occupied Palestinian territory, warned that “situations where communities are put under pressure to move raises a real risk of forcible transfer.”
Following a visit to Khirbet Hamsa al-Fawqa hamlet in the northern Jordan Valley on Wednesday, Hastings explained that the Israeli occupation has continued its campaign against the Palestinian community even though its residents have run out of domestic legal procedures to reverse these measures.
“In accordance with international law, the Israeli authorities should immediately halt all further demolitions of Palestinian homes and possessions,” Hastings added.
Despite repeated calls by the international community to put an end to these actions, the Israeli occupation authorities confiscated all tents, food, water tanks, and fodder in the community.
The UN coordinator called on the Israeli occupation authorities to “allow the humanitarian community to provide shelter, food and water to this most vulnerable group and these people to remain in their homes.”
