Gaza, ALRAY - The Palestinian Ministry of Social Development vehemently condemned targeting people with special needs and special needs organizations in the Gaza Strip by the Israeli occupation.

In a press statement Thursday, the Ministry noted that five people with special needs were killed and dozens suffered various injuries in aerial attacks on their homes by Israeli occupation warplanes.

Several people with special needs were also displaced after their homes were bombed by the Israeli occupation army without a valid reason, the Ministry continued.

The Ministry explained that the Israeli occupation has used all kinds of lethal and deadly weapons in its offensive against the besieged Gaza Strip in a blatant violation of international law and all norms and treaties advocating for human rights.

These atrocities and violations, the Ministry added, were committed against all segments of the Palestinian people, including people with special needs and special needs organisations, such as the Beach Rest Area Accessible for Persons with Disabilities and the Sheikh Hamad Hospital for Rehabilitation and Artificial Limbs.

The Ministry called on the UN Secretary-General to provide protection for the Palestinian people and people with special needs from the extreme brutality practised against them by the Israeli occupation.

It also urged the international community, human rights groups, and the UN Human Rights Council to hold the Israeli occupation accountable for its ongoing crimes against people with special needs and put an end to Israeli attacks on special needs organisations.
