Gaza, Alray - Palestinian Prisoners' Club denounced the continued isolation of Bassam Obeid held in Rimon prison incommunicado for 39 days.
Obeid, from Arraba town in Jenin, was solitarily isolated for refusing arbitrary transfers policy practiced by Israel Prison Service (IPS) against him and his fellow prisoners.
Prisoners’ Club Secretary Ragheb Abu Diak said “IPS deliberately makes arbitrary transfers of prisoners to confuse them and disturb their lives,”
"In spite of the bad health condition of Obeid embodied in hearing impairment, and severe pain in the right leg, the prison administration denied him to stay by his fellow prisoners," Abu Diak added.
Bassam’s brother Walid Obeid called on International Committee of the Red Cross to press IPS to return to the usual sections so that his fellow prisoners would provide him with the necessary care.
Bassam Obeid has been detained for more than nine years.
