Six Palestinian detainees continue hunger strike demonstrating administrative detention

Jerusalem, ALRAY - The Commission of Detainees and Ex-detainees Affairs (CDEA) stated on Tuesday that six Palestinian detainees, who have been suffering difficult health conditions, are continuing their open hunger strike inside Israeli occupation prisons, demonstrating their unjustified administrative detention.

 

The detainees on strike include Kayed al-Fasfous, on strike for 69 days; Meqdad al-Qawasmeh, 62 days; Alaa al-Araj, 44 days; Hisham Abu Hawash, 36 days; Rayeq Besharat, 31 days ago and Shadi Abu Akar, for 28 days.

 

According to CDEA, detainees al-Fasfous, al-Qawasmeh and al-Araj are currently in al-Ramla prison clinic, in which they are going through difficult health conditions and can only move using wheelchairs.

 

In a related context, a third appeal hearing has been set for CDEA to challenge the administrative detention decision issued against al-Fasfous, on Wednesday, the 22nd of September, in the Israeli occupation military court of Ofer, CDEA added.
