Ramallah, ALRAY - The Israeli occupation prisons administration transferred on Tuesday Palestinian detainee Zakaria Zubeidi, who has been on hunger strike for seven days, to the Be’r Assabe’ prison clinic.
The head of the Commission of Detainees and Ex-detainees Affairs (CDEA), Qadri Abu Bakir, warned of the deteriorating health of Zubeidi, because he has also been on water-drinking strike, which is dangerous for his life, pointing out that CDEA’s lawyers have been demanding to visit him but have not yet been allowed to.
Abu Bakr held the Israeli occupation authorities responsible for Zubeidi’s life as well as the lives of the other detainees on hunger strike, based on the violations and torture acts by the occupation authorities against those detainees.
Zubeidi's brother, ex-detainee Yahya al-Zubeidi, said that the Israeli prison administration put Zubeidi in solitary confinement, in a room surrounded by surveillance cameras, and was subjected to violent searches, which led to his deteriorating condition and transference into the hospital.
