Occupied Jerusalem, ALRAY - Palestinian committee in the Jordanian parliament condemned on Tuesday the frequent Israeli settlers’ attacks against the Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem.

The head of the committee, Nayef Al-Qadi called on, in a statement, the international community to work to stop Israeli daily attacks that carried by Israeli settlers in the court yards of AL-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock.

He also condemned the recent attacks against the martyrs’ cemeteries, such as the Yusufiya cemetery, where the remains of Jordanian and Palestinian martyrs, who killed in the defense of Jerusalem and its holy sites, are buried.

The statement noted that the attacks are a violation of the sanctities of the Palestinians, and deliberate sabotage of private and public properties that all considered an aggression and abnormal behavior that has not been repeated throughout history.

He stressed Jordan commitment to support Palestinian rights until regaining its rights and establishing a Palestinian state on Palestinian national soil, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

“Region and the world could not enjoy security and stability without resolving the Palestinian cause on basis of Israeli complete withdrawal from all the Palestinian territories occupied in 1967,” he said.

Israeli occupation bulldozers razed last Sunday parts of Yusufiya cemetery that adjunct to east side of Al-Aqsa Mosque. Clashes erupted between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers.

Israeli courts ordered to resume razing the cemetery up to a petition by the Nature's Authority, the decision also allow to  convert a plot of land into a public park in order to ensure that Muslims are prevented from creating new graves in them, as part of efforts to Judaize Jerusalem and change its history and geography.

Al-Yusufiyah cemetery is located north of Bab al-Rahma cemetery, adjacent to the eastern wall of Jerusalem, and has been under attack for years by the occupation authorities, the excavations reached archaeological foundations close to the doorstep of the Lions Gate.

The cemetery is considered one of the most important and prominent Islamic cemeteries in the city of Jerusalem.

The occupation municipality has been working for a long time to besiege the cemetery and surround it with Judaizing projects, paths and Talmudic gardens along the eastern wall of the city of Jerusalem and adjacent to the cemetery, with the aim of concealing the features of the corridors and the authentic historical sites surrounding the cemetery.
