Jerusalem, ALRAY - The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) attacked on Tuesday Palestinians celebrating a religious event in Bab al-Amoud area of the occupied city of Jerusalem, causing injuries among them.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said in a statement that its crews dealt with 17 injuries on Tuesday afternoon in the area of Bab al-Amoud.

PRCS added that 10 injuries were taken to the hospital, while the rest were immediately dealt with on the ground, and that the cause of injuries varied from beatings, sound bombs, rubber bullets and suffocation.

On Tuesday, thousands of Palestinians celebrated a major religious event at Al-Aqsa Mosque, where the Islamic Endowments “Awqaf” Department in Jerusalem organized the celebrations.

The IOF injured 49 Palestinians and detained 10 others, including two young girls among other minors, after they were attacked on Monday in Bab al-Amoud area, in the center of the occupied city of Jerusalem.

In a statement issued Tuesday, the Islamic resistance movement Hamas condemned the attacks on children and women by the IOF, saying that it shows the true face of the criminal Israeli occupation, which violates all the rights enshrined in all international and humanitarian conventions, especially children’s rights.
