West Bank, ALRAY - Israeli prison services deliberately adopted a comprehensive system of phycological and physical measures against Palestinian detainees that violates all human rights law, exploiting the incident of escaping six detainees from Gilboa Prison to invent new methods of torture against all prisoners, Commission of detainees and ex-detainees’ affairs reported.


The commission stressed in a report that the new methods are applied especially on the six detainees who escaped from Gilboa prison and re-arrested later.

 

The report revealed the torture that the detainee Mohammed Al-Ardah is exposed to inside the isolation cells of Ashkelon Prison, he is held in a cramped cell that lacking the most basic necessities of life. He is not allowed to go out for break as well as the daily search for the cell by Israeli special units.

 

He is held in solitary confinement for six months, subject to renewal, during which he is deprived of the cantina and family visits.   

 

On the other hand, it noted that the detainee Ayham Kemmeji who is held in solitary confinement in Ohli Kedar, is fined with 2850 NIS by IPS.

 

The lawyer of Kemmeji noted that he is held in a very harsh conditions and subjected to reprisals actions, and he is deprived of family visit and cantina for six months.

 

He reported that Ayham was beaten and brutally assaulted by the occupation soldiers during his arrest, and he is currently suffering from body aches and the inability to feel the finger and toes of his left hand, and the prison administration deliberately does not provide him with any kind of treatment.
