Gaza, ALRAY - Israeli occupation forces detained on Monday morning a Palestinian trader as he was travelling through Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing in the northern Gaza Strip.

Abdel Nasser Farwana, a Palestinian expert on prisoners' affairs, said that the Israeli occupation authorities detained Mahmoud Ahmad at the Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing.

In a press statement, Farwana pointed out that Ahmad, who has a "merchant’s permit", is the sixth Palestinian detained by the Israeli occupation authorities at the Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing this year.

Less than 4% of Gaza's residents are allowed to travel through the Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing after getting a permit from the Israeli occupation intelligence service.

Palestinian human rights organizations accused the Israeli occupation of turning the Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing into a "trap" to abduct Palestinians, including patients, merchants, and students, and blackmail them into collaborating with it.
