Gaza, ALRAY - The Palestinian Government Media Office(GMO) documented 99 violations committed by the Israeli occupation against Palestinian media workers over the past month.
In its monthly report, the ministry's Documentation Unit recorded 14 cases of Palestinian journalists being detained, summoned, and having their detention extended by the Israeli occupation forces last month.
The unit also documented attacks by the Israeli occupation army and settlers against dozens of journalists.
With the help of Israeli settlers, the Israeli occupation forces prevented more than 21 journalists from doing their journalistic work in a bid to suppress coverage of Israeli crimes and violations against Palestinians.
The Israeli occupation forces also confiscated five phones and equipment of journalists and banned two media workers from travelling abroad.
The unit documented two cases of Israeli occupation forces storming the houses of two journalists before detaining them and two other cases of journalists receiving threats.
As for Palestinian journalists in Israeli occupation prisons, the Israeli occupation authorities forced a journalist to pay a fine before releasing him.
The Israeli occupation intelligence service interrogated four journalists in custody, according to the report.
The unit recorded more than 24 cases of social media giants such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram closing down and restricting accounts of Palestinian journalists on the pretext of violating their community guidelines in cahoots with the Israeli occupation authorities to suppress Palestinian content online.
