Occupied Jerusalem, ALRAY - Targeting Palestinian schools in occupied Jerusalem, and imposing more security restrictions on Palestinians, Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israeli Kennest member submitted a new draft law that would prevent Palestinian teachers in Jerusalem and the occupied interior from expressing their solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
According to Hebrew channel 7, the new law stated that if any teacher is proved that he/she backs or supports the Palestinian cause, he will be fired.
The explanatory note to the bill states that there was in the recent years growing cases of teachers, work in schools funded by the Israeli education ministry, who expressed their support to actions and organizations that works against the occupation.
The bill states that the teachers, supervisors and employees of the ministry of education, are to pledge not to express their support to any actions against Israel and the organizations that works against Israel, and not to publish any propaganda in the school that supports the Palestinian struggle.
Israeli occupation authorities took new policy in employing any new teacher which is subjecting any teacher to security check before being employed.
Hebrew sources confirmed that all applications for employment have been suspended, until the decision is approved in its final form
