Nablus, ALRAY - Scores of Israeli settlers, guarded by Israeli occupation forces, forced their way into Joseph's tomb in the occupied northern West Bank city of Nablus.

Local sources reported that two buses carrying dozens of fanatic settlers, escorted by 20 Israeli occupation military vehicles, broke into the eastern area of Nablus and stormed into the religious shrine before leaving an hour later.

The sources said that senior Israeli figures were probably among those who took part in the incursion into Joseph's tomb.

Israeli settlers claim that the shrine is the burial place of the biblical patriarch Joseph while historical sources confirm a Muslim cleric, Sheikh Yussef Dawiqat, was buried at the site two centuries ago.
