Jerusalem, ALRAY - The Israeli occupation is planning to construct thousands of new illegal settler units in occupied Jerusalem.
The so-called Israeli construction and housing ministry said that plans to build 5,250 settler units in five, 12-storey buildings in occupied Jerusalem have been approved.
The project also includes the construction of 300 hotel rooms and a commercial zone over 840 dunums (84 hectares) of stolen Palestinian land.
In a meeting last Tuesday, the Israeli Jerusalem municipality’s finance committee approved a budget of 800,000 shekels ($250,000) to set up an alternative plan for the construction of this new neighborhood between the Palestinian village of al-Walaja and the zoo south of occupied Jerusalem.
