Talkarem, ALRAY - Israeli settlers on Sunday evening blocked a military checkpoint based at the entrance to the village of Shoufa to the southeast of Talkarem and prevented Palestinian vehicles from passing across.
Eyewitnesses said that the settlers, protected by Israeli forces, sealed off the Shoufa military checkpoint in front of the movement of Palestinian people.
Israeli settlers attack Palestinians on a daily basis across the occupied territories under the so-called “Price Tag” banner. Such attacks always go unpunished by the Israeli occupation authorities.
These attacks often include assaults on Palestinians, hindering their movement, slashing tyres, painting anti-Arab slogans, in addition to the cutting down of trees belonging to Palestinian farmers.
In violation of international law, over 700,000 Israeli settlers live in Jewish-only colonial settlements across the occupied West Bank, including east Jerusalem.
