JEDDAH, ALRAY - The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the Israeli occupation forces' storming ad closure of the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem.

The OIC said in a statement on Friday that this dangerous escalation is an attack on the sentiments of the whole Muslim nation and a flagrant violation of the international resolutions and charters.

It held the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the repercussions of such daily crimes and offenses against the Palestinian people, their territories, and sanctities.

The IOC also called on the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to intervene to put an end to such recurring breaches, protect the Palestinian people and the sacred sites, and prevent such attacks that would foment religious conflict and instability in the region.

On Friday, the Israeli occupation forces broke into the al-Aqsa Mosque Compound and savagely assaulted the worshipers, before detaining hundreds of them.
