Jerusalem, ALRAY - The Israeli occupation authorities forced a Palestinian citizen on Sunday to self-demolish part of his house in Wadi al-Joz in occupied Jerusalem.
Farid Jaber, the homeowner, said that he had to knock down part of his home to avoid having to pay tens of thousands of shekels as fines to the Israeli occupation authorities.
Jabber said that he was shocked to receive a demolition order against his home, which was built 15 years ago. He passed through several court sessions, in which he failed to protect his house from demolition.
He pointed out that he had applied for a building permit for his house, but the Israeli occupation authorities imposed hard-to-achieve conditions on him that prevented him from going ahead with the process.
